Social housing providers feature as important social economy actors across Europe. There is a variety of forms that social housing organisations can take, such as cooperatives, non-profit organisations and (semi)governmental organisations. Some of these housing organisations can be described with traditional ‘state’, ‘market’ or ‘civil society’ labels, but many correspond in fact to hybrid organisational forms, encompassing characteristics of state, market and civil society organisations. This group could be referred to as social enterprises.

Social economy as a concept has still largely failed to become established and is unknown to the wider public.
The deep transformations undergone by Western countries after the economic crisis have positioned the local economic development in the centre of the productive restructuring verified in many territories, which appears as a possible way of progress for some rural areas with an endogenous potential.
Los problemas y necesidades sociales relacionados con la sanidad, la salud en general y las prestaciones sociales con que se encuentran las instituciones públicas actuales son de difícil resolución en el actual sistema de salud. Tampoco el sector privado se muestra como un eficaz colaborador para paliar las deficiencias o carencias del público a la hora de afrontar estos problemas. De ellos, tres se van sobredimensionando, a saber, los relativos a la salud, al desempleo y la cobertura de los servicios de protección social para toda la población.

Public finance, social added value and accountability.
Abstract:
This study ensues on the new research project “Specifics of the social enterprise financing and of the social and public added value measurement”, which is financed by the Czech Science Foundation (CSF) for 2009 – 2010.
The goal of this paper is analyzing the evolution of co-operative societies and labor societies (sociedades laborales) in the Spanish territory during the period 1989-2007. As well as it´s pretended to relate the economic context in which these entities are developing their activities and to study their contribution to economic development and job creation. For that, we will use two analysis related to the methodology of convergence, β-convergence (beta-convergence) and δ-convergence (sigma-convergence).
The laws of some EU Member States (particularly Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Spain) have a more favorable taxation for some or all cooperatives than the limited liability companies. The existence of a privileged tax regime has been traditionally associated with the singular nature of capital and profit cooperative.

Title: “Existing situation, challenges, barriers and missed opportunities in development of Social economy in Slovenia”
Methodology
The paper intends to analyse at first the existing situation on SE sector in Slovenia, key groups of actors direct and indirect, and level of their integration, vertically or horizontally, the performance indicators, compared to some best practice countries and Regions. At the end the paper will deal with policy recommendations to boost up social entrepreneurship in Slovenia.
El estudio muestra los aspectos teórico-metodológicos y los resultados preeliminares del Prototipo de la Cuenta Satélite de la Economía Social, Solidaria y Popular en Venezuela realizado por el Banco Central de Venezuela. Este prototipo es una investigación estadística, cuyo objetivo general es conocer el aporte que realiza el sector a la economía nacional.
This project emanates from a CIDA Partnerships for Tomorrow Program II grant which funded a visit by myself and Annie McKitrick to Kyrgyzstan in December, 2008. The purpose of the trip was to introduce Social Economy concepts, including the notion of ‘fair trade’ to various sectors working to enhance community economic development in the country. Independence for Kyrgyzstan after the collapse of the Soviet Union brought severe poverty and economic collapse to rural areas as collective farms fell apart.
