From June 2003 to June 2008 we researched eight major bioindustry companies of natural products in Manaus (Amazonas – Brazil), using the neoschumpeterian methodology. Starting with Amazonian indigenous knowledge and using local and natural raw materials, these companies make innovations and reach for sustainability. Products like natural energetics, anti-infections, anti-inflammatories, etc are made on a natural basis by local and genuinely Amazonian companies.

It seems to be one element strongly related to social inequality and environmental degradation and involves the entire planet and each of its inhabitants, rich and poor, in the same problem.
