CIRIEC - (International Centre of Research and Information on the Public, Social and Cooperative Economy)

A main partner in organising and financially supporting the conference.

CIRIEC is a non-governmental international scientific organization.

Its objectives are to undertake and promote

• the collection of information

• scientific research

• and the publication of works

on economic sectors and activities oriented towards the service of the general and collective interest:

• action by the State and the local and regional public authorities in economic fields (economic policy, regulation);

• public utilities; public and mixed enterprises at the national, regional and municipal levels;

• the so-called “social economy” (not-for-profit economy, cooperatives, mutuals, and non-profit organizations); etc.

In these fields CIRIEC develops activities of interest for both managers and researchers.

The European Regional Development Fund

The 2nd International CIRIEC Research conference will be organised with the financial support of the European Regional Development Fund.

FAS

FAS is the Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research.

The Council was established in 2001 through a merger of the Swedish Council for Social Research and the Swedish Council for Work Life Research.

Its mission and objectives are:

To promote the accumulation of knowledge in matters relating to working life and the understanding of social conditions and processes through

• Promotion and support of basic and applied research.
• Identification of important research needs.
• Dialogue, dissemination of information and transfer of knowledge.
• Promotion of cooperation between researchers both nationally and internationally, particularly in EU programmes.

The County Council of Jämtland

The 2nd International CIRIEC Research conference will be organised with the financial support of the County Council of Jämtland.

Livénska fonden

The conference will be organised with the financial support of Häradsskrivare E. Livén’s fund, which supports activities within the city of Östersund that are not the responsibility of the Municipality of Östersund.

The County Administrative Board of Jämtland

The 2nd International CIRIEC Research conference will be organised with the financial support of the County Administrative Board of Jämtland.

In its role as the regional representative of the Swedish government, the County Administrative Board has a wide variety of tasks. The County Administrative Board co-ordinates the work of various sectors in the County which entails an active role in most of the planning and regional development work. The wide scope of responsibilities gives the County Administrative Boards a unique position among Swedish authorities.

Mid Sweden University

A main partner in organising and financing the conference.

Geographically, Mid Sweden University is located in the middle of Sweden, right at the heart of Northern Europe. It is a young university, but its roots go back more than 150 years.

Mid Sweden University is the leading educational institution in the field of net based learning in Sweden. Approximately 40 percent of the students at Mid Sweden University study net based courses or programmes. The concept of flexible learning describes our approach to teaching and learning.

The city of Östersunds

Östersund city is a founding member of SISE/CIRIEC Scandinavia and has a long history of promoting and collaboration with social economy. The 2nd International CIRIEC Research conference will be organised with the financial support from the city of Östersund.

Riksbankens Jubileumsfond

Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ) is an independent foundation with the goal of promoting and supporting research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The foundation seeks to promote contact with international research. Riksbankens Jubileumsfond provides support in particular in the following areas:

• the establishment of research centres or research areas with an international impact,
• support for projects and programmes of an interdisciplinary character,
• the establishment of networks or more fixed forms of national and international cooperation, among other means, through the establishment of an international exchange programme for researchers,
• the promotion of doctoral studies and recruitment for research,
• the promotion of free mobility for researchers on an international level and between universities / university colleges and other fields.

Swedish EU Presidency 2009

On July 1st, Sweden took over the Presidency of the EU for the second half of 2009. The country holding the Presidency leads the Council of the European Union and acts as the driving force behind the EU’s legislative and political work. SISE/CIRIEC Scandinavia has received the confirmation from the Swedish Ministry for Social affairs, that the 2nd International CIRIEC research Conference on the social economy has been accepted to be organised as one of the events during the Swedish EU Presidency period.

Social ekonomi i mellersta Norrland

Assists in organising the conference and supports it financially.

Social ekonomi i mellersta Norrland is a plattform between various social economy actors in the Mid Sweden region. It’s aim is to strengthen the social economy in order to contribute to longterm economically, ecologically and socially sustainable development.

Serus

Serus - Social Economy and Regional Development in Scandinavia - is responsible for the organisation of the conference and also provides the conference with financial support.

Serus is a cooperative localized in several places in Sweden. Serus offers adjusted services for local and regional development to assist authorities, organisations and enterprises with project design, development and realisation of their ideas. Serus was founded 2002 in Brussels and was developed from the european arena, with a wide wide anchorage in the European cooperation. A large source of inspiration is the Social Economy with its developmental power, innovative way of thinking and responsible values.

Scandinavian institute for social economy

(SISE/CIRIEC Scandinavia)

SISE/CIRIEC Scandinavia is responsible for the organisation of the conference.

SISE/CIRIEC Scandinavia is a network consisting of various partners and organisations that works with research, information, publication and development of the social and public economy in Sweden and Scandinavia.

Tillväxtverket financially supports the organisation of the conference.

Tillväxtverket is a public authority, which works for more and growing enterprises and a sustainable and competitive Enterprise in all parts of Sweden.
